De-Kastri is one of the largest ports in the Far East and serves as a hub for crude oil deliveries to Asian markets. The overall capacity of the export terminal is 12 million donnes of oil per annum. The port also has a tanker loading capacity which can accommodate 110,000 dwt ships.

The export terminal belongs to the Sakhalin-1 project consortium, which includes Rosneft with a 20% stake. A total of 1.6 million tonnes of Rosneft oil were dispatched through De-Kastri in 2009.

Since 2006, nearly 300 oil tankers have transported more than 20 million tonnes of crude oil from the terminal without a single incident.
